Guided by the belief that your family has the right to a joyous and empowering birth, I bring authentic warmth and caring reassurance to my Doula practice. I will support you to both define and experience your birth in whatever way makes sense to you. Above all, I want you to feel respected, valued and safe.
As a practitioner, I deeply trust your body’s innate birthing intelligence and abilities while also believing there is truly no one “right” way to birth. As such, I will collaborate with you to find what works best for your unique circumstances.
I have found that while every woman births differently – whether she births at home or a hospital, with medication or without – every woman is equipped with the powerful instincts that can guide her through birth. As a Doula it is my aim to aid mothers in following those instincts in a way that feels right to them.
Here is a summary of what our work together will involve:
~ Two prenatal home visits of approximately 60-90 minutes in the Greater Vancouver, BC area. The goal of the visits is for us to get to know each other and to develop your birth plan, as well as to discuss your preferences in terms of labour comfort measures.
~ Telephone, text, and email support from your 36th week until your postnatal visit.
~ Continuous labour and birth support (emotional reassurance, physical comfort, non-clinical advice and informational guidance for you and your partner) during your active labour and delivery as well as postpartum support for a short while as needed after childbirth.
~ One postpartum home visit of approximately 30-60 minutes.
